2024 Kirk McNulty White Seabass Spearfishing Classic Registration

2024 Kirk McNulty White Seabass Spearfishing Classic tournament is on from April 15th - May 14th. The registration fee of $29.20 will assist in the release of two juvenile White Seabass from local California growouts. According to Hubbs-Seaworld Research Institute, the estimated average cost to raise, tag and release a WSB is $14.60. This does not include costs associated with volunteer time, the costs to maintain growout systems and additional funds (grants and donations) that we receive in support of the program or to conduct related research.

READ RULES AND REGULATIONS: All fish must be weighed on land with a certified digital scale. Pictures of your fish, current scale certification stamp/sticker, time and weight of catch, and picture of fish head dropped at your local drop-box to assist in Hubbs research will be required to qualify. Submit fish to Clark@oceansglobal.org

By purchasing and registering for the Kirk McNulty White Seabass Spearfishing Classic you acknowledge, agree and understand that spear fishing is a dangerous sport, and you are making a voluntary choice to participate in this event despite the risks the sport presents.

You certify that you are over the age of 18 (or have signed permission from a legal guardian), in good health, an experienced free diver, and possess the skill required to participate in this event. You agree that prior to participating you will review existing weather and ocean conditions and your equipment to be used. If you determine either the ocean or weather conditions to be beyond your abilities, prior to participating, you will not take unnecessary risks to participate in this event.

You acknowledge and understand that you will be engaging in activities that involve the risk of serious injury, including paralysis, permanent disfigurement, disability, dismemberment and death, as well as severe social and economic loss, which might result not only from actions, inactions, or negligence of yourself, but also the actions, inactions, or negligence of others, or conditions of the ocean or environment which are beyond the control of any person and risks not known to anyone or not reasonably foreseeable at this time.

You assume voluntarily all the foregoing risks and accept personal responsibility for damages following such injury described above.
